Creating Cats and Dogs

We have been doing make and do for reading.  We made cats and dogs out of cardboard, following instructions.

Drew's Mini Glass House

Wow! This is Drew's mini glass house with 5 corn seeds.  It looks so so awesome.  Drew even has a few little roots and 1 long root that has come out of the seed.  I hope the whole class has some too.  Our whole class has these.  Some mould and moss is on the corn seeds beacuse they aren't the proper growing seeds, just popping corn.  Drew's mini glass house looks cool!!!!

Athletics Day

Ellie, Mac, Liem, Pasi and Otto are waiting for the baton to do their sprint during the class relay.  Our athletics day was held yesterday on our school field.  Just about everybody had a wonderful day, and our favourite events were sprints, high jump, long jump, sack racing, vortex throwing, novelty racing, long distance running, shot put, discus, and the teacher relay was great fun to be in and watch.

Hand Sculpture

On Friday we made hand Sculptures. We put vaseline on our hand. It was slimy and stopped the plaster sticking. When the plaster dried we used the scissors and cut it a little bit so we could take the plaster off.  We put them by the window to make them dry.  Pasi

Jessica and her New Friend

It was cool having a day off school to build a snowman!

SNOW!!!

Hi,
Hope you have had some fun playing in the snow.  I've been outside to borrow some milk from my neighbour (what a time to run out!) and walked down the drive to get her paper for her.
I took this photo of the snow.  If you have some good snow photos, email your best one to me today and I'll put it on the blog.   If you could include a caption too that would be great!  Send them too:  janine.b@hampsteadschool.co.nz.

Rock Climbing

We have got a new playground.  It is fun for people to play on.  It is hard to climb up on and very slippery on wet days.  Everyone always climbs up to the top.  Some people hate it because it hurts their arms and is slippery.  It is fun to play on.  Liem and Marley climbed it.  They said it was very hard because it hurt their arms.  Maybe they just need bigger muscles!!

Old Playground

This is Hampstead's old playground and we have another playground by room 12 and 13. Not very many people play on the old playground . Most people play on the new one. It took lots of work to make a new playground. When they were making our new playground there was a big orange rope around it.

WoW!! Look at our new playground. It looks awesome. It has a big spider web

with a blue circle in the middle. It also has 6 climbing walls. My favourite part of

the new playground is the monkey bars.

New Classes Finished

Wow!! Look at our new classrooms, rooms 14 and 15.  Mr Melrose has been waiting to see the new classrooms. The whole school wanted to go in the new classrooms but they didn't get in.

Aidan is our school Counciler. He will take ideas from our class to the Principal.

If Aidan is away Charlotte will take over Aidan. I think Aidan will be a

good school Counciler.

New Sliding Doors

These are builders who are making slide doors for Room 8 and 7. First they had to cut out the wall and door. Then they had to build the sliding door and also the glass window. Then they have to
put it together and  they are done.

Hope Bridger

What are they thinking?????
